Production Log: 'It's all about Henry'

My role in this production was gallery assistant. This role required me to make sure the timings for the programme were on time so that the programme would be exactly ten minutes long. I thought that overall I performed relatively well, although my job was made much more difficult than expected due to the timings on the running order being incorrect. With the help of Suzy, we were able to work as a team to adjust the running order mentally  and make Josh (director) aware of how long left there was on each section. Despite our best efforts, unfortunately the programme still finished around ten seconds too early due to a couple of small mistakes being made.

I feel that on the whole, the production was successful however this is still room for improvement. Improvements that could be made include better comunication between all of the prodcution team and making sure timings are correct before whole group rehersals commence.

Production Log: Life After College

For this production, I fulfiled the role of director. I thought that generally my performance was good although there is still room for improvement. Improvements that could be made include making stand-by calls to camera operators and communicating timings to the presents and floor manager more clearly. I have learnt that this is important when producing a live TV programme as a lack in communication can result in the timing being incorrect which could ruin the production. As well as this, I have learnt to work under pressure as everyone else in tho production is relying on me for information which they need to enable them to reach their potential in their own job role.
